Version compatibility (protocol error message)
Strictly speaking this may not be a "version" compatibility issue, as we're using specific repo snapshots. But it may be an issue.
We've been using a librist built off the development branch (to acquire some previous fixes); hashed at: fded24e7.
The fixes have now been merged to the master branch so we've rebuilt our librist against that; hashed at: 0b1b0c12
An existing RIST caller/receiver is failing to connect to the new listener/sender.
The existing caller repeatedly traces: "Protocol 57548 not supported (wrong profile?)".
(Both ends are using the RIST_PROFILE_MAIN
.)
The trace was in rist-common.c; but removed in commit: 4e0444fe
Is it that we should be configuring something when using the new code (or failed to configure something in the old code)?
Or is it that there're just no guarantees between those builds because we're skiing off-piste
