Some bugs that can't be solved easily prevents this feature to function
properly. Anyway, I let the issue on hold on the bug tracker.

If the exposed area does not contain a rounded corner, only the exposed
area is painted. When the zoom is set to a very deep value this could
lead to a speedup of a factor 2.
