VLC hangs/won't close after selcting Upnp playlist

I experienced issues with vlc 2.0.0 and later 64bit on mac osx 10.6 and later.

I downloaded several 64bit versions for MacOSX and tried to figure out:

1. since when this issue occurs.
2. which versions are affected
3. what could possibly cause the issue.

here is what I found out:

By opening the UPNP media library in vlc it tries to renew the font cache which cause the vlc to hang if you try to watch a video. I have tested only HD Videos, which could also lead to the issue.

But however this issue occurs since the beginning of version 2.0.0 in my opinion.

I just downloaded the 32 bit version of vlc 2.0.1 and saw the 32 bit version is trying to renew the font cache.
