ActiveX plugin for VB not working

Since VLC 2.0.0 the "VLC ActiveX Plugin and IE Web Plugin v2" doesn't work anymore in Visual Basic. I use Visual Basic 2010 Express on Windows 7 32Bit (clean install). When I add the plugin to the Toolbox and then drag it to the form I get the error message: "Could not create the component AxHost. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8002801D): library not registered..." (translated from german)

Programs that have been compiled with VLC 1.1.5 using the plugin crash with VLC >= 2.0.0
