OS X Native Fullscreen Mode Quirk with cmd+w

Summary: On OS X version 2.1.0, there is a strange quirk with native full screen mode and the cmd+w shortcut [which closes the window].

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Go to preferences and check the box "Use the native fullscreen mode"
  2. Restart VLC if needed to affect the change.
  3. Start a video and send it to full screen.
  4. Press the keys [which closes the window]

Expected Behavior: I expect one of the following to occur: (1) nothing happens with the cmd+w shortcut, or (2) I'm returned to another Desktop and VLC fullscreen mode is exited.

Actual Behavior: The video stops playing and the player window is closed leaving me at the OS X generic grey crosshatch wallpaper. I can switch to another desktop using Hot corners, or the <left|right> arrows, but the VLC desktop remains in the list. Upon switching back to this empty VLC full screen desktop after leaving, it will remain the grey croshatch wallpaper.

If the VLC icon is clicked in the Dock, the Desktop space will switch back to the VLC full screen Desktop and show the playlist window full screen.
