UTF-8 Sinhala subtitle rendering issue

Since many years I am using VLC '.zip' portable player.

So, I have noticed there is a problem with Sinhala subtitle rendering.

I can see Sinhala subtitles in other players like Windows media player, KMPlayer.

When I watch a movie with Sinhala subtitle I can only see is just squares.

I thought someone have reported this problem but no one has did it.

This problem since many years.
