Crashes on startup

E-mail: spccullen@gmail.com OS: Windows XP Home w/ Service Pack 3 and all updates. Version: VLC Media Player 2.0.8 Hardware: Intel i7 2.67Ghz, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, Realtek HD Audio output. All device drivers are up-to-date. Situation: Program crashes immediately on startup when trying to open .wmv and .3gp files. Once this crash has happened, program crashes for any file type, to include trying to reset player preferences and cache files. Requires reinstall to run files types that do work, i.e. .avi and .mp4. On previous installations, VLC has worked wonderfully for me. My hard drive crashed, requiring replacement and a fresh install of all programs and drivers. This is when the trouble with VLC started. On a side note, the installation file I downloaded from your website produces an NSIS error no matter how many times I download it. The only installation file that worked for me was from download.net.
