No audio after subtitle adjustment

Whenever I play a video and adjust the subtitle, the audio track doesn't work. I was playing two and a half men episode but the subtitle track was 3 seconds ahead so I adjusted the subtitle track to appear early. When I started the video again, I couldn't hear the audio. I closed VLC player, reset all preferences and repeated the same thing but the same problem occurred. I uninstalled VLC player and installed the latest version again but still the problem didn't go away. I then installed a nightly version too but still the problem persists. When I tried playing another video and adjust subtitle, the video track would somehow gets out of sync. The subtitle and audio track are in sync but the video track gets out of sync. Please help me. Older version of VLC did not have this problem. I've been having this problem ever since I updated VLC to 2.0.7.

I use Original Windows XP SP3 Home Edition version 2002. Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor 1.6GHz. 2GB RAM.
