1080p video player glitch on Samsung Galaxy S4

Audio plays fine, but when a video is played the screen turns black and the video is compressed into a 1 or 2 mm thin strip across the screen. rotating the phone does nothing and the UI cannot be seen onscreen either. It just looks like the player doesnt support 1080p screens in the android version yet
