Sub/Idx subtitles files don't work as expected (VLC 2.05, Mac OS X 10.5.8 PPC)

All sub/idx files with several languages (most common case: english first, french second, others) are malfunctionning: subtitles are detected. Subtitle Video submenu is accurate but selection of second line (french) or others (> french) won't display the selected language. Only the first language (in my case, english) is displayed. Path names, file names are standard. Had several unrelated occurences of same behavior.

VLC 2.05 Mac OS X 10.5.8 on PowerPC (G5) powermac.
