VLC forcing autmatic switch to discrete GPU

MAC OS 10.8.2 VLC 2.0.5 Mac (with previous versions as well)

Whenever I play a video file - no matter the format - VLC triggers the switch from the integrated GPU to the discrete GPU,using more power and reducing battery time.

Platform: MacBook Pro 17'' "Late 2011", Intel I7 2.4Ghz Integrated GPU: Intel HD3000 Discrete GPU: AMD Radeon HD6770M

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
