VLC forgetting to use video settings using playlist but not when opening 1 by 1.

I am using VLC media player 2.0.3 Twoflower and I have found a problem. I have made it so VLC player saves my video settings by using these steps I found on forum

1: open any video using VLC 2: right click the playing video screen and go to "interface/extended settings" 3: go to the "video effects" tab. 4: click the "image adjust" box and set the brightness, contrast, etc to your liking. 5: click the "Close" button on that adjustment window. (DON'T QUIT VLC JUST YET-keep that video playing) If you quit completely by mistake, you have to start over. 6: go to "tools/preferences" and hit the "save" at the bottom.

Well after I do all of that then close and open VLC player it works great and keeps my video settings. However if I use a playlist to play 1 after the other VLC player forgets to apply my settings when it switches to a new file. At first all it did was remove the mark from the video settings box so I tried redoing the settings and saving them using the steps above. Then making VLC players settings file read only to prevent the program from removing the mark from the box. This worked in the fact that VLC player will now never remove the mark from the box but it still does not apply the settings even though the box is marked. So when I have the settings file read only and I use a playlist I am forced to open video settings to remove and replace the mark in the video settings box. This always happens when I use the playlist to play multiple videos (right after VLC player goes to the next video on the playlist) but not when I open the files 1 by 1.
