DirectSound: session for legacy audio outputs

As shown here http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=61015 , VLC can get muted by the audio policy in Windows Vista and later. The discussion does not say how it happens; I can only assume users went into the Windows mixer panel, muted VLC and later forgot to unmute it.

Anyway, renaming the executable is not a viable solution, nor is editting the registry manually. The DirectSound audio output should use the legacy audio interoperability APIs when used on Vista or later: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd371428%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
