VLC 2.0.3. using 100% CPU in peaks every few minutes

Updated to VLC 2.0.3 and Activity Monitor shows it uses over 100% of CPU every few minutes and playback goes jerky when listening internet radio. This lasts few seconds and then playback is normal for few minutes. Didn't have any problems before this update.

iMac with twin-core Intel CPU, 4Gigs memory. OsX 10.6.8.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
