Version 2.0.3 Twoflower (Intel 64bit) no sound

Just did the auto-upgrade, and silence reigns. I'm still getting sound from youtube, and audio prompts from the o/s are still coming through, but nothing from VLC.

I checked VLC prefs, and tried setting the output to the computer's internal speakers, but, again, nothing from VLC, through o/s and other audio pass through that as well.

system details: MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB OSX 10.6.8 Metric Halo ULN2 interface via firewire Universal Audio UAD2 Satellite Duo
