Unexpected Right Click Behavior in Playlist

Summary:

  • After selecting multiple items in the playlist, right-click'ing will remove the selection and select only the item which the right click was performed upon

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. open VLC, open the playlist (if not already open).
  2. drag multiple items into the playlist

Scenario 1

  1. select multiple items using whichever way you prefer, dragging the mouse, holding shift, or holding the apple button and selecting, or right-clicking and hitting select all
  2. right-click one of the items in order to delete all of them
  3. he selection will clear, and only the item right-clicked on will be highlighted

Scenario 2

  1. select multiple items using whichever way you prefer, dragging the mouse, holding shift, or holding the apple button and selecting, or right-clicking and hitting select all
  2. right-click on an empty area of the playlist
  3. menu pops up and delete button is greyed out, thus unable to delete multiple items which are selected

Expected Results:

  • right-clicking on highlighted items will not clear all of the items which have been selected and allow operations to perform on all of the selected items, such as delete
  • right-clicking on empty playlist area with items selected, will only have options which are unavailable to be performed on multiple entries in the playlist be greyed out, delete should not be one of these

Notes:

  • occurs on VLC 2.0.1 Twoflower (Intel 64bit), also tested VLC 2.1.0-git Rincewind (Intel 64bit)
  • occurs on OSX Lion 10.7.4, not tested on anything else
  • 2010 Mac Mini 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB 1067 DDR3, Behringer UCA202 USB Audio
  • 100% reproducible.
