Intermittent freezings
Ever since VLC 2.x came out, I've been experiencing issues with freezing. I'm watching video and suddenly VLC freezes and doesn't respond to keypresses or mouse input. Sometimes the freeze is so bad that the OS itself appears frozen. After around 30-60 seconds, it unfreezes and continues playback of the video. I've seen this behaviour in both version 2.0.0 and 2.0.1, but if I downgrade it goes away.
VLC is quite noisy when logging and this is what I found in the console messages at the time of the last freeze:
2012-04-14 9:08:12 AM [0x0-0x17017].org.videolan.vlc[280] [0x1199ac400] main input error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay increased to 1000 ms) 2012-04-14 9:08:12 AM [0x0-0x17017].org.videolan.vlc[280] [0x1199ac400] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called 2012-04-14 9:08:12 AM [0x0-0x17017].org.videolan.vlc[280] [mpeg4 @ 0x100d2cc20] warning: first frame is no keyframe
The problem is not related to VLC being installed as an upgrade or a clean install. I've tried both ways.
