MacOSX | video does not start in fullscreen
Summary:
- when starting a new video (either double click from Finder or add to playlist and hit 'play'), the video does not start in fullscreen even if the "start video in fullscreen" option is enabled.
Steps to repeat:
- have a previous install of version 1.1.12 and update to 2.0.1 (unknown whether this also occurs on a fresh install of fresh preferences).
- start VLC and go to 'preferences' to verify that the "start video in fullscreen" option is enabled.
- start a video by either double clicking it in Finder or by adding it to the playlist and clicking "play".
- notice that the video starts playing in a window.
- try to switch to fullscreen by either double clicking on the video window or clicking on the 'fullscreen' button. It will take two attempts at this to get the video to actually go to fullscreen (ie: it already thinks it is in fullscreen on the first click).
Expected results:
- video starts in fullscreen as the option suggests.
Actual results:
- video starts in windowed mode and the 'fullscreen' button is broken for the first click.
Regression:
- this worked correctly on all previous versions of VLC (ie: 1.1.12 and earlier).
Notes:
- occurs on MacOS 10.6.8. Untested on Lion or ML.
- unknown whether fresh prefs or a fresh install would fix this issue. It may be related to stale preferences from the older version not being handled properly in the new version.
- the 'fullscreen' button starts to work correctly after the first click (ie: VLC thinks the video is switching to windowed mode for the first click when it is actually already in windowed mode).
