Fontconfig window display issue and console loading errors

Whenever I open a video, I usually see 3 errors in the system console like:

3/20/12 8:42:38.733 PM [0x0-0xc39c39].org.videolan.vlc: Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file.

In investigating that, I deleted my fontconfig so it would be rebuilt and the Font Config rebuild window displays no text.

Unfortunately it didn't help the "default config file" error messages, but at least it may have revealed another issue.
