A-B loop feature doesn't work on WMV files

A to B Loop feature doesn't work. Actually, it never did with VLC.

If you mark a video segment with A and B, the looping function, instead of looping between A and B, repeats a split-second segment near point A.

You can reproduce this on any WMV file. Here's a link to one:

I did see couple of existing tickets from the past about this problem, but they don't really give any info on the status of this bug. One ticket's response is that the looping function doesn't work on all the media files, the other ticket, from some three years ago, is just sitting there with very little response.

It sound like this bug is somewhat known. My question is:

"Is there an chance it will be addressed in a future version?"
