crash: while playing video in strlen()

I experienced a crash while playing videos in vlc. Dragged a new video to the dock while playing an existing video, then it crashed deep within the CF stuff. Seems to be intermittent.

The crash log has been attached. From the logs and the nature of the bug, it seems to be some sort of cascading failure in strlen() from a race of some sort.
