dvd fails to open with menus disabled

Mac Os - 2.00 - nightly 12/Feb 2012

1. insert dvd
2. click 'open disk'
3. click 'disable dvd menus'
4. click open

one possibly relevant issue is that the item in the playlist shows "uri":"dvdread:///dev/rdisk4@1:1-"

whereas on windows, the playlist will show dvdsimple:///D:/

when a dvd is succesfully opened from the http interface it appears as "uri":"dvdsimple:///Volumes/MIDDLEMARCH_DISC1",

(although there is a bug related to dvdsimple from the http interface too - see next comment)
