Build font cache on every single video

For some reason on my work PC every time vlc opens a video it has to rebuild the font cache. Even if there is one video playing and clicking on a new video in Windows explorer causes the annoying popup of "Building font cache" to pop up. How can I figure out what is causing this? This doesn't happen on my machine at home. Both machines are Windows 7 x64.
