controls out of view in full screen mode
Controls are partially or fully out of view after switching to full screen mode:
http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc-devel/2011-April/079778.html
Reports a partial view of the controls, with the rest off screen, in a tiling WM.
http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc-devel/2011-May/080386.html
Reports a second affected system, using xf86-video-ati open source driver and fluxbox WM (no compositing). This system shows no controls (during mouse movement) in full screen mode. pos was edited in .config/vlc/vlc-qt-interface.conf to 100,100. After restarting vlc this didn't correct the issue (see attached).
Both systems are running archlinux with kernel 2.6.38 and xorg server 1.10.
This issue affects vlc 1.1.9 only.
Rolling back to vlc 1.1.8 is confirmed to display controls correctly during full screen mode on both systems.
As an additional bit of info, vlc 1.1.9 in ubuntu 11.04 is confirmed to have fullscreen controls working correctly (a third system). This is also kernel 2.6.38, however 'aptitude show xorg' indicates: Version: 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.
This downstream functionality feedback is brought to you by archlinux users!
Bleeding edge beta-testers to the world 8-)
Thank you for vlc!
