dvd video playback interrupts with presumable multiple angles dvd

I wanted to watch the movie "Amelie" on video DVD. The dvd used by me has - presumbably partly - two "video tracks", one for France and one for Germany. I think this could have been realized with multiple angles feature. The desired video track can be selected in the dvd menu. However, the playback interrupts several times, especially when the specific parts should start. There seems to be also in the open disc menu no way of telling which video track is desired so one always has to navigate through DVD menu. This problem is specific to vlc.

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
