VLC crashes with Secure Boot enabled

I have VLC 3.0.21 installed. When I enable Secure Boot in the BIOS, VLC crashes on startup. When Secure Boot is disabled, it runs normally. The VLC log shows no unusual information and aborts mid-word when it crashes. Forum discussion and the VLC log can be found in the VideoLAN forum.
