Audio channels in wrong order (MOV file)

Other issues (now closed) reported wrong audio channels ordering with MOV files, for instance #22420 (closed) or #27505 (closed) or #12002 (closed), but this is still happening to me on VLC 3.0.20 on MacOS. This might be unrelated to the other reports, of course. But there is still an issue!
Not sure if it is a MacOS thing, I don't have another 5.1 setup to test with.

I have a 5.1 file in a MOV container, audio is reportedly "LRCLfeLsRs" (as written in the file name!) but also seen like this by Media Info ("Channel layout: L R C LFE Ls Rs").
VLC indicates 3F2R/LFE in its metadata codec details:

See capture vlc_metadata

VLC plays the center track as Ls. I'm not sure if it just inverts the two channels, there may be other mixups but there is little surround sound in the file, so I was unable to hear clearly if something else was wrong.

Here is the audio processor view when playing with VLCvlc
And now with Quicktime player. Clearly this is the correct channel layout.quicktime_player
