.mp4 video playback on Fedora 39 shows a black window (audio only)

After having received the following update “vlc-3.0.20-4.fc39.x86_64” through RPM Fusion, I’m now having trouble playing a lot of .mp4 videos. However they work when downgrading to “vlc-3.0.20-1.fc39.x86_64” and/or when running the 3.0.19 flatpak version.

How to reproduce (always):

• Update to latest packaged VLC 3.0.20-4 through RPM Fusion
• Run and play an .mp4 video with VLC

Result: audio is playing, but there’s no video (black window).

Expected: having functional audio and video playback.
