macOS: VLC title in menubar shown as "VLC Media Player"

BUG that happens with VLC on all versions of macos 14 (sonoma)

all details of bug outlined in https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=163546 . please give that a read and i hope devs can fix this!
