I can't hear the audio of .avi videos that are not muted
Hello everyone. I'm from here. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-forum/audio-and-codecs-vlc-to-play-audio-maya-playblast/m-p/11904462#M97063
The questioner wants the audio to play in the VLC media player as well, so I'm going to make a suggestion here instead.
The problem is that I have an Autodesk Maya, I PlayBlast a video in avi format that has audio, and when I play it in a VLC media player, there is no sound, even though it is not muted. This problem is reproducible. It has been confirmed by my VLC media player.
PlayBlast is simply the ability to create videos to preview animations. Autodesk Maya can render avi in a variety of encodings. The encodings that can be PlayBlast are as follows. There are others, but they cannot PlayBlast, so they have been omitted.
- IYUV codec
- MS-RLE
- MS-CRAM
- none
There are too many different types of encoding, so this time the objective is to be able to play audio with none. The avi with audio will play audio in Windows Media Player, Films & TV, Adobe Premier Pro 2023 and Adobe After Effects 2023 without any problems. And when the avi is converted to MP4 using Adobe Media Encoder, the audio is confirmed in all videos. So, I think that this problem may be in the VLC media player.

Data attached, please also see that. If you have Maya, please also see the Maya data. The way to import audio is probably the same as the person who asked the question.
If the audio is missing, go to RMB in the timeline, Audio>Import Audio and import the audio from the folder. You may also be unable to import other audio files, for example, the same wav. See below for a summary of this, sorry it's in Japanese. https://amaterasu-qbb.hatenablog.com/entry/2023/02/06/010100
