VLC ignores audio track setting when converting DVD to a file
I am attempting to convert a DVD to a file using VLC v. 3.0.18 on Windows 10 64-bit. This DVD has 2 audio tracks, both of which I have tested by playing it in VLC, the default 0=English and the other track 1=Japanese. When I play it in VLC, VLC plays the correct track I choose. The problem comes in when I attempt to convert the DVD to a file.
To convert it, I go to Media->Convert/Save and click the Disc tab. The only setting I change from the default is audio track (from -1 to 1), and then click Convert. I attempt to convert it to the first MP4 option and save it to a file. When I open the file in VLC, however, I can only hear the English audio track (track 0 and the default). The Japanese audio track (track 1) does not play at all.
Though today I have tested it on one DVD, I have seen this issue in the past with other DVD's and other versions of VLC.
It appears VLC ignored my audio track setting and is in some way hardwired to only convert the default audio track. I ask that it be fixed so that it converts the audio track selected by the user, just as it does when the DVD is played.
How to reproduce: This issue can be reproduced by using a DVD with 2 or more audio tracks and then attempting to convert the DVD to an MP4 file with an audio track other than the default; then by playing the file in VLC and hearing the results (which requires knowledge of what each audio track is, which can be learned by playing the DVD in VLC and comparing the audio tracks).
