Fluidlite plays all MIDI files 1 octave higher

In nightly build v4.0-dev-win32 20221230-0424, all MIDI are playing 1 octave higher than it should be. MIDI "octave" are correctly played in v3.0.18-win32.

Can you try https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc/nightly-win32/20220909-0419/ ? Aka something before Sept 12 (1c7fdece)

Or try a 3.0.19 NB and see if you can also see the issue?

vlc-4.0.0-dev-win32-2f4ba073 (20220908-0423) has "1 octave high" issue. (i.e. both drumset channel not correct and 1 octave high)

vlc-3.0.18-win32-379c00bd (20221230-0218) has NO "1 octave high" issue. (i.e. both drumset channel correct and octave correct)

I can't find where to download 3.0.19 NB. Please give me a link if my test can help.

OK, this is unexpected then...

And I guess most 4.0 NB you find have also the issue...

Just tested with some more early nightly snapshots in vlc-4.0 branch, it occurs at least from vlc-4.0.0-dev-win32-9bdbd49c (20220502-0735).

Some earlier branch (e.g. vlc-4.0.0-dev-win32-627ab4fe / 20220415-0419) has no sound when playing MIDI files which I think would be earlier bug already fixed.

It could be edf50ce0 maybe

because maybe fluidlite needs it, while fluidsynth does not.

My current feeling is that edf50ce0 does work with fluidsynth, but not fluidlite.

@jbk NB 3.0.19 (8132db81) played MIDI files with correct octave and drums.
