Can we remove DirectSound ?

DirectSound is only useful with Vista and before.

I have read (but can't find the source anymore) that it's just a wrapper to WASAPI after Windows 7. And Windows 7 will be the minimum-supported version of VLC 4.0

So, could we remove it ? Furthermore, it will facilitate my future work on mmdevice/wasapi.
