External Subtitles Not Working Correctly with DVD (VOB) File
I have a properly timed external .srt and .ass file. I have loaded a DVD folder of .VOBs using the Ctrl+D (Open Disc) option. I then load in the external subtitle, and some of the subtitles display properly, some do not display at all, and some merely flash on the screen and instantly disappear, despite being timed correctly. The first half of the movie was watchable, but the second half is completely unwatchable.
I opened the same subtitle file on a non-DVD file (.mp4), and the subtitles in the unwatchable portion displayed properly, with no issues. I then attempted opening the subtitle on an alternate DVD, and it has the same flashing and disappearing issue, so I believe this issue is related to loading external subtitles in to a .VOB / DVD file. The issue is that somehow, despite being properly timed, the subtitle is not interacting correctly and displaying correctly with the .VOB / DVD file.
This happens with both the .ass and the .srt file, which have the same timings, so it seems to be an issue with external subs in general, and not a specific file type, and their interaction with the .VOB.
This appears to be an ongoing issue, I have come across this post that seems to describe the same issue:

Note: I am using VLC 3.0.16 for Windows.
I've attached the .srt and .ass files, I can upload the DVD folder (5GB) somewhere if needed (https://streams.videolan.org/upload/ only allows 1GB files).
