Can't play file from Ubuntu on VLC but Movies & TV (Windows app) will play it

I have an Ubuntu server with Samba (CIFS) on it and some shared hard drives. I use it to store videos. I have read/write access from Windows. I can read and write text files and video files. I can play the videos on Ubuntu and I can play the same video, shared via SMB, on Windows 10 with the Windows App "Movies & TV" but the same file won't play on VLC. So it plays 2 ways but not the third. I have tried it with several different files. The log file for a failure is attached. It was created for just one file so should be clean to read.

I love VLC and have used it for years. I have contributed to your project and will again. It is my "goto" app for video viewing. I am glad you kept it free when you had the chance to sell it off. VLC_Error_Log.txt
