Cannot change the size of ass subtitles font

I cannot resize ass files in Vlc. I have the latest version and tried resetting the settings and reinstalling and deleting the cache but it didn't work. I tried resizing the same subtitles of the same video file in another device and it worked perfectly, the other device was also on the latest version and with reset preferences. Any solutions?
