Console recommends use of nonexistent cvlc

On macOS, running /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC in Terminal causes VLC to display:

Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.

However, there isn't a file named cvlc that I could find. If there is such a file, it would be helpful for the message to indicate its location.
