Where is the API document for lua

Where is the API documentation for Lua programming?

I want to write an addon with lua. But I don't know the API.

There are some API functions below in some .lua files. But I don't know why the authors know these API function.

  • dlg:add_label,dlg:add_text_input,dlg:add_button
  • vlc.msg.info,vlc.var.set
