Crash when playing midi files-Can be replicated on multiple platforms--3.0.16 ONLY

Greetings!

Since upgrading multiple systems at my studio to VLC 3.0.16 I have noticed crashes happening very often. I cannot replicate the video crashes but can replicate the MIDI crash every time without fail.

This was attempted on a Windows 10 system running on a Phenom II X4 and another windows 10 laptop (low end HP with unknown AMD chipset). I also attempted it on my iMac (2019 model with i7 processor) and am using the latest available version of VLC and OSX there as well. Same results on all three systems.

Files attempted to be played were midi files. Easily accessible samples that I used are available at khinsider.com/midi/nes/legend-of-zelda (not my website).

I have flashsynth enabled and switched between several different SF2 files with sizes between 50MB and 515MB, including SGM-v2.01-YamahaGrand-Guit-Bass-v2.7 and Soundfont - OPL-3 FM 128M. Same result every time.

After playing two files, whether in the playlist or by loading each one in succession, the player will act like it is playing but no audio will be played. If I attempt to load another file or stop the current playback, VLC crashes. There is no crashdump file located in the VLC appdata folder but when I reload VLC, I am asked if I would like to report the error.

This happened on every system that I attempted it on, and was solved by downgrading to VLC 3.0.8.

I've had no problems since downgrading.

Good luck!
