M3U playlists HTML encoded

BUG: Saving playlist as M3U or M3U8 saves the relative path names with HTML encoding, which is then only recognized by VLC.

Using VLC v 3.0.16 on Windows 10.

While I could see the argument for HTML encoding, it is not recognized by any of the other media players I've tried:

  • Media Player Classic v1.9.19.42
  • Windows media player v12.0.18362.2158
  • (Via Navidrome) Ultrasonic v2.24.0
  • (Via Navidrome) Subsonic v4.8
  • (Via Synology DSM) DS Audio v3.15.2

For example, this is what is generated:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:275,Hans Zimmer - Time
Hans%20Zimmer/Hans%20Zimmer%20-%20Time.mp3
#EXTINF:257,Hans Zimmer - Ride
Hans%20Zimmer/Hans%20Zimmer%20-%20Ride.mp3

And this is what ALL of the other media players require:

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:275,Hans Zimmer - Time
Hans Zimmer/Hans Zimmer - Time.mp3
#EXTINF:257,Hans Zimmer - Ride
Hans Zimmer/Hans Zimmer - Ride.mp3
