VLC slow to start play from network SMB

When opening a file from a network windows share it starts copying ALLLLLL the file over the network to my laptop, even with wifi6 it takes like 3 mins to start playing with a 2 GB movie... so annoying, it used to start automatically, I don't know what caused this
