Great thanks, Just to let you know that there are thousands of people who own same camera and they have same sound problem, I have been looking into sony forums and apparently nobady knows what is going on. Best of luck

This is Linear PCM, 24 Bit Big Endian, mono with the "ipcm" FOURCC, a dialect so far non-understood by VLC and mpv. It decodes correctly in QuickTime though. When adding the FOURCC, playback will fail with "no frame sync or too small frame" from lpcm.c, so adaption in the packetized seems to be needed.

The issue is equally reproducible with VLC v3 and v4.

There's four split mono audio channels. What's the purpose ? Aux, Internal, Aux, Aux ?

Well, I work for broadcast and we record mono channels specially when at comes to dialogues 1 interview, 2 second dialogue 3 third dialogue, Sometimes I follow 3 people at the same time, and in order to get perfect sound from each person,mono is needed. and 4th ambient sound. https://www.sony.ru/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras-microphones/xlr-k3m This is the external recorder that I use.

FYI, @fcartegnie fixed this problem by implementing the missing code path. The next version of VLC (3.0.17) is going to correctly support those files.
