VLC doesn't save volume on exit

I'm having a strange issue with my VLC on Manjaro (KDE) since a long time. Currently running VLC 3.0.16

Every time I open the player, the volume is reset to 100%. I checked "Save volume" in Settings multiple times, even edited vlcrc file setting volume-save=1 (it was 0) manually. Simply doesn't work.

This bug drives me mad and I'm willing to provide all necessary info to help you find the root of the bug and fix it.
