Green bar on top of screen Linux Mint 3.0.9.2 Vetinari

On every type of movie I try to watch there is a green bar across the top of the screen. This happens in every type. The screenshots are from one mp4 and one mkv, but it happens on avi and every other that I try, and you'll notice that the anomaly is the same on both. I have tried installing the nightly build with the ppa in order to try it and there is no green bar ( I don't care for the interface on that version, so I had to deleted it). As you can see from the screenshots the image is doubling and shadowing inside the player.
