Stuttering when watching rotated videos

Using Windows 7 and VLC 3.0.16 on a ten year old system (Medion PC with MSI motherboard and AMD-A4-…) playing a MTS video recorded by a compact Casio digital camera, it works plays fine. Rotating the video 90 degrees in the effects some videos only play with 10 FPS or so.

The system should be powerful enough to play these kinds of video.
