VLC 4: Thumbnail has wrong aspect ratio

In VLC 4 the movie thumbnail in the ML is stretched to fill the thumbnail, resulting in wrong aspect ratio:

(Note the thumbnail for "10 000 BC" in the screenshot.)

Could you check if the original thumbnail has the right aspect ratio? it should be somewhere in

{USERDATADIR}/ml/mlstorage

It seems I can't reproduce this, @ePirat are you still having the issue on edb68947 ?

@bunjee Sorry I missed your message… It did not happen with a recent version so far, so I would say lets close for now and I will re-open in case it occurs again.

Actually I just managed to reproduce it again with a fresh nightly of VLC, the thumbnail is already wrong so this seems like an issue of the ML thumbnail generation and not the interface.

Oops, no it felt down my todolist, I tried to solve it but failed to, I might have an old branch I can try to resurrect (or if someone feels more at ease with aspect ratio maths, feel free to assign yourself )

To be fair I'm not entirely sure it still reproduces on master @ePirat ?
