VLC 4's new GUI turns off some users

I really dislike the new UI and hope it is optional. Modern? It has everything I dislike about similar players. The playlist is teeny and less info-dense when expanded, the startup shows me a library I doubt I'd configure - who knows where Now Playing is. I'll stick with the 3.x and older UI. Why not just keep the old classic layout where it was simpler? I hate all the new metro stuff. Please change the UI back to pre-3.0
