"Enable time stretching audio" seems to have no effect, audio detunes anyway
For what it's worth this isn't new this has been the case for years (decades?) but I never got around to file it. But I constantly have issues with VLC as an audio player due to one single issue, which is the audible detuning.
Now there is the setting "Enable time stretching audio" which seems to be made to compensate for this problem, but it's just that I can't tell a difference - the audio still audibly detunes sometimes.
Would it be possible to revisit this setting? Or maybe would it be possible to just let audio-only files play back without syncing to system time (which I think I've once been told is the underlying issue for this whole compensation to kick in that detunes)? It seems to be a bit of a shame that one single such issue can impact the use as an audio player somewhat, so it would be cool to see some sort of solution to this.
(My apologies if there is already an obvious additional setting to address this, but I haven't found one.)
