VLC stucks in Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon

I am using Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon version 4.8.6 Linux Kernal 5.4.0-64-generic VLC version is 3.9.2 Vetinari buildd@lgw01-amd64-060.buildd Apr 9 2020 19.29.44

When I close the VLC player , it sometimes stuck in the right hand side notifications icons such as volume , internet,etc. If I try to click on it it comes up and doesn't work at all. I have to use the kill command from terminal to end the process and launch again. I am not sure if it the issue of Linux Mint or VLC but I thought it would be better to report first.
