Sound Problems with VLC 3.0.10 for macOS

I am experiencing audio issues related to playing a paused video. After pausing several times, the audio playback does not start, you can only see the movie but hear no sound.

Hardware: Apple Mac Book Pro 15 inch (mid 2009)\ OS: 10.11.6 El Capitain\ VLC version 3.0.10 and VLC version 3.0.4\ My solution: Exit the application via the Mac Task Manager makes VLC function as expected\
